EYE LOVE YOU....

Go get your eyes checked! You would be surprised to know some of the things I learned while at my optometrist appt this past week. Turns out my left eye is lazy and has been all of my life, however because I didnt catch it when I was young my brain by the time I was probably about 7 or 8 learned to depend on my right eye thus never giving me any indication of having visionary issues. My vision used to be one of my bragging rights and I knew I had 20/20, nobody could tell me nothing. My Dr, said I probably saw very well but that is because we were not yet introduced to doing everything on the web and all this digital technology we suffer from being sick with and addicted to. It wasnt till I was about 24 and after I had my son that I realized my vision was getting weaker and weaker. I have heard however that pregnancies strip women of all things (perfect cokebottle shape, smooth skin stretch mark free, teeth, memory, mobility) to name a few, but I had no clue that it was just a matter of time that my eyes would decieve me.

My baby who is nine years old started complaining about headaches when reading and watching television when she was about 8 years old. I figured because she was active in sports that she was just possibly exhausted. It wasnt until I was watching her successfully read in a dimly lit room vs. a bright room that her headaches were attributed to her vision.  From her Drs appointment, sure enough the Dr concluded that she has *astigmatism, just as I do. Im glad that we were able to detect her vision issues earlier than later, but she will have to wear glasses because of her MAMA...unfortunately just like a lot of things she has inherited from me, this is also one of them.

*Astigmatism is an optical defect in which vision is blurred due to the inability of the optics of the eye to focus a point object into a sharp focused image on the retina.

I go every year, since I can't see a damn thing without glasses or contacts and I'm not a good candidate for lasiks surgery (boooo!).

I also have astigmatism, as does my mother. I'm told it's because of the shape of your eye and that people with big eyes that curve usually has it.

This reminds me to make an appointment. :)

I wear glasses. I also have a astigmatism like my girl jazzy. I have contacts but they are to much of hassle sometimes, so I rock with my glasses if I want to see anyway.

I'm blind as a bat, that's why I don't get into fights, if my glasses get knocked off it's light out for me. And it's a shame to get your ass whipped and then search for your glasses afterwards. Lol.
